Pushkar Fair ----- This fair is well-known and marked with largest participation of all the festivals of Rajasthan, Pushkar is an important pilgrimage as well as the venue of a mammoth cattle fair. auctions, music Bazaars and sports are highlight of this event.

Temple at Pushkar -----The colorful city is full of temples, among below listed temples are the most important one. Mostly all visitors along with sadhus visiting Pushkar visit this place :-

RAMAVAIKUNTH TEMPLE, Pushkar: ----One of Pushkar's largest and most intricate temples, the Ramavaikunth Temple was built in the 1920's and has beautifully sculpted images of no less than 361 different deities. The ornate outer gopuram over the entrance is said to have been built by a team of masons specially brought here from south India.

SAVITRI TEMPLE, Pushkar: ----- Savitri Temple in one of the most renowned in Pushkar. According to the Hindu mythology Savitri is the first wife of Lord Brahma. When He was all set to start a Yagna on earth in the place of Pushkar (determined by drooping a lotus flower), Savitri's presence was the prerequisite. But She had kept Him waiting. Lord Brahma, irritated at this, married Gayatri the milkmaid to start the yagna on the most auspicious moment. This temple stands just behind the temple of Lord Brahma. A long series of steps lead to the shrine. From the temple you can get a panoramic view of the Pushkar lake.

VARAH TEMPLE, Pushkar: -------This temple was originally built in the 12th century, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. One of the various incarnations of Lord Vishnu was that of Varah (boar). The temple worships the Varah form of Lord Vishnu.

JAGAT PITA SHRI BRAHMA MANDIR, Pushkar: --------The famous Brahma Temple, is said to be the only temple in the world dedicated to this deity of Lord Brahma (the god of Creation) which stands on a high plinth with the Marble steps leading up to it along with a silver turtle on the floor facing the Sanctum-Sanctorum or Girbha-griha. Around the turtle the Marble floor is inset with hundreds of silver coins. Peacocks adorn the temple walls as they are supposed to be the vehicle of lord Brahma's consort Saraswati. A small image of the milkmaid Gayatri, flanks the four-faced image of lord Brahma and is called Chaumurti The sanctuary has silver doors inside a carved marble gateway.

Kuchaman Fort, Pushkar------- Kuchaman is mainly known for the magnificent Kuchaman fort. Built by the Gujjar Pratihara dynasty, the fort houses the Meera Mahal where you can get a peek into the life of Meera Bai through the miniature paintings. There is also a Lok Dev Temple, comprising some fascinating paintings of Lok Devtas such as Sant Tejaji, Sant Gogaji, Baba Ram Dev, Sant Kesaria Kanwarji, Sant Ravi Das, Sant Kabir, Guru Nanak, Khawaja Moin-ud-din Chisti, etc

Ajmer Fort, Pushkar------ Pushkar excursion tour is incomplete without a visit to the holy city of Ajmer which is situated just 14 km from the city of Pushkar, Ajmer houses the Dargah (tomb) of the Sufi Saint Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chisti. Kishangarh Fort, Pushkar------- The city of Kishangarh is mainly known for its miniature paintings. Kishangarh got renowned as one of the finest schools of miniatures paintings in the 18th century. Under the patronage of Savant Singh, this particular art form reached its heights. It is said that Savant Singh portrayed as Krishna, with Bani Thani (his mistress) modeling as Radha, for the purpose of the paintings. Apart from the paintings, Kishangarh is also regarded as a rich store of marbles.

Roopangarh Fort, Pushkar---- This fort was constructed by Maharaja Roop Singh of Kishangarh in 1648, Roopangarh fort has now been partly converted into a heritage hotel. Beautiful architecture and age-old traditions surround the Roopangarh fort. Its medieval stone granaries, royal armories, jails and formidable battlements leave you yearning for more.

Ghats around Pushkar------ Numerous ghats run down to the lake, and pilgrims are constantly bathing in the lake's holy waters. If you wish to join them, do it with respect - remove your shoes, don't smoke and don't take photographs. This is not Varanasi and the pilgrim here can be very touchy about insensitive instruction by non - Hindus.
